Polygon Digital Solutions is a service line within Polygon Group responsible for development, sales, and delivery of tech-based proactive solutions for insurance, managed property, and construction. The solutions combine IoT and data analysis to monitor conditions in buildings and construction environments to reduce the risk of property damage to save health, environment, and costs. The team is currently 35 people and based in Stockholm, Sweden and Worcester, UK.

 

We are now looking for a enior Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps Engineer, based in Stockholm to join the team.

 

The role:

In this role within Digital Solution, you will be pivotal in architecting,

implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. You will bring your expertise in AWS and

DevOps to drive efficiencies, scalability, and reliability in our systems. A as a key part of this role,

you will be a hands-on engineer that can mentor team members and contribute to strategic decisions for our Platform and Infrastructure Team as we scale.

 

Some of your responsibilities will include...

Platform and Infrastructure Leadership

• Collaborate with the Technology Director to define the infrastructure roadmap.

• Mentor and guide team members in best practices for cloud infrastructure and DevOps

workflows.

 

AWS Cloud Infrastructure

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable infrastructure using AWS, focusing on services such as

EKS, S3, IAM, VPC, Secrets Manager, IoT Core, RDS, EC2, EventBridge, SQS, CloudWatch, CDK,

Step Functions, and Lambda.

• Optimise cost, performance, and scalability of cloud resources.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards for security and data protection.

 

Automation and Tooling

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments using Terraform and Terraform

Cloud.

• Manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like CircleCI and GitHub Actions.

• Implement containerized solutions using Kubernetes and Docker.

 

Monitoring and Incident Management

• Deploy and manage monitoring tools including Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and

Alertmanager.

• Own incident response processes, performing root cause analyses and implementing long-

term fixes.

• Develop robust backup and disaster recovery strategies.

 

Collaboration

• Partner with software, firmware, and QA teams to streamline processes and improve

delivery cycles.

• Advocate for DevOps principles across departments to foster alignment and efficiency.

Your profile:


We are looking for you who has a proven experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer combined with deep expertise in AWS infrastructure and DevOps ecosystems. You are proficiency in AWS IoT Core and understanding IoT-specific challenges.

 

You also have:

·  Strong experience with Terraform, Terraform Cloud, Kubernetes, and Docker.

·  Expertise in CI/CD tools such as CircleCI and GitHub Actions.

·  Strong scripting and programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Javascript).

·  Familiarity with monitoring stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki) and DNS management tools

        (Cloudflare).

·  Strong focus on security and compliance in cloud environments.

·  Familiarity with Kafka, MongoDB, Redis, Kong, Postgres/TimescaleDB, Helm, Gardener

        Clusters (LF).

·  Experience with MQTT and related IoT communication protocols.

·  Hands-on knowledge of ArgoCD for GitOps workflows.

·  Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small teams.

·  A vision for scaling infrastructure and fostering team growth in an IoT-first environment.
